Laboratory Analyst

The Downers Grove Sanitary District has a full time opening for a Laboratory Analyst at the District's Wastewater Treatment Center. Salary range  is $20.21 to $30.30 per hour. Please note that District employees must reside within a 30-minute travel time from the District’s Wastewater Treatment Center located at 5003 Walnut Avenue, Downers Grove. A successful candidate must comply with this requirement within six months of employment.

Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Environmental Science degree required. Environmental laboratory experience preferred.

We have an immediate opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer in our Kenosha, WI Civil/Environmental Department.  The selected candidate will provide municipal planning, engineering design, computations, and construction services on infrastructure projects for clients throughout SE WI and NE IL. The Civil Project Engineer will report to a Senior Project Manager.  

Position Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, and EIT minimum.

  • 2 - 5 years of general civil engineering experience.

  • Previous municipal infrastructure engineering experience is required.

  • Ability to review plans to insure compliance with local building, zoning, and subdivision codes.

  • Ability to provide construction observation services on road, water, sanitary and storm sewer, and drainage improvement projects.

  • Experience with permitting at the local, state, and federal levels.

  • Experience managing MFT-funded infrastructure projects.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to make public presentations.

  • Ability to develop relationships with client representatives and project stakeholders.

  • Ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office, experience with Microstation and GEOPAK is a plus.

GIS Expert

For Water and Waste Water Networks, the individual in this position will:

  • Propose and support the UGAM software & GIS  strategy and initiatives,
  • Assist & support the implementation, migration, deployment of INFONET,
  • Support our operators in existing UGAM software & GIS,
  • Propose & support in the appropriate UGAM & GIS database structures
  • Establish proper training documentation.
  • Evaluate and Plan the different training needs depending on the site.
  • Establish the Training courses with our Training Department.

 This person will direct and coordinate UGAM software & GIS migrations, investigations and troubleshoot problems to standardize as well as possible the UGAM data collection and reporting.  To do so He will liaise with the IT department, the users and the software vendors as needed.

 The UGAM software & GIS expert will take the lead with the development, implementation, and monitoring of continuous improvement action plans involving UGAM software & GIS
