Model Quality Assurance Plan
The IWEA Laboratory Committee has developed a Model Quality Assurance Plan, QAP, that can be used by laboratory as a guide for writing their in-house QAP .  The Illinois EPA requires laboratories to submit a QAP when applying for laboratory certification.

The Model Quality Assurance Plan is available in two versions: the Model QAP and the Small Laboratory Model QAP.  Click on the appropriate link below to access the Model Quality Assurance Plan.

In order for the IWEA Laboratory Committee to provide the most accurate and up to date information regarding laboratory accreditation please read the following paragraphs carefully.

The quality assurance manual provided on this website was written to adhere to previous regulations and therefore may not conform to present standards. The IWEA Laboratory Committee may revise the manual some time in the future to reflect the changes. Until that time please reference the websites listed below from IEPA, USEPA and NELAC to obtain current information.

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency adopted the National Environmental Laboratories Association Conference (NELAC) standards for laboratory accreditation on July 29, 2002 and are cited as such in Title 35, Subtitle A, Chapter II, Part 186. The NELAC standards that were adopted and cited are from July 2001, there are several versions listed on the USEPA/ NELAC site. Note that accreditation fees are listed in links in the IEPA websites listed below. The fees listed in Title 35, Subtitle A, Chapter II, Part 185 are not current.
